Additional business grants – Retail, Hospitality & Leisure

As we begin the third national lockdown in the last 12 months, the chancellor has announced a new support package for affected businesses. This particular grant scheme targets UK businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors.

Value of the grant

The grant will be awarded as a single lump payment, up to the value of £9,000. The amount available is based on the rateable value of the business premises, as follows:

• Businesses whose premises have a rateable value of up to £15,000 can claim up to £4,000.
• Businesses whose premises have a rateable value of between £15,000 and £51,000 can claim up to £6,000.
• Businesses whose premises have a rateable value of more than £51,000 can claim up to £9,000.

Existing support

This grant will run alongside the pre-existing grant schemes for businesses. A grant of £3,000 is available for businesses that have had to legally close, and a separate grant of up to £2,100 per month is available for impacted businesses upon re-opening.
